Montenegro - Budva

A hidden gem.

Montenegro, I didn’t have a clue. I had no feelings when thinking about this country whatsoever.

It sounded familiar, but I didn’t know the country at all and it wouldn’t be my first thought when searching for a holiday destination. But Samsung had invited 2 ambassadors per country from all over Europe for the One Charge Challenge. Which meant that 6 countries participated in 5 challenges on 1 Galaxy Note 9 battery.

My team consisted out of Robin Martens and off we went to Montenegro with no expectations but with lots of excitement.

When we arrived at our hotel ‘The Queen of Montenegro’, I was already pretty excited. The hotel was clean and beautiful and my room was a suite, yay! After talking to the others, I was the only one with a suite, so I was quite lucky! I was surprised to find a gift bag on my bed, which contained a bottle of prosecco (couldn’t take this back with me on the plane in my hand luggage, so you know what that meant..) a book, chocolate and SPF30, very handy! And of course I got the new Samsung Galaxy Note 9 to play the challenge with.

After a welcome dinner, where Robin and I were the only one with dietary requirements (aka I don’t eat and like fish and Robin is a vegetarian) and all the food was mixed up, we strolled around the boulevard and bought some art. I buy art in every country that I go to, which is my way to maintain the memories (besides pictures). The whole atmosphere of the boulevard was really nice, it was touristy, but also cute with beautiful views of the sea.

I also bought a bikini, because I forgot to bring one… Bruh.

The next day we had to get up really early, we had to be at breakfast at around 4 am in the morning.. Luckily I love eating breakfast in hotels (Pancakes! Scarmbled eggs! Waffles! Fruits & yoghurt! And that all in one place!) and sometimes I’m even a morning person.

My experience of Montenegro was above all expectations. The country was so unbelievably beautiful and the weather was great! Later I found out that it was the Beckhams favorite holiday destination, wether that’s true I don’t know, but it’s fun to think so. And ofcourse I can imagine why that would be.

I would recommend going on a city trip to Montenegro for 3 to 5 days, I definitely would want to go back to check out more, because it’s truly a hidden gem. ✿
