ROMA - AMOR

Valentinesday in Rome and engaged to this pizza.

I went to Italy once before, to Sicily. It was beautiful, the weather was great, but I always loved to see more of Italy. I dreamed of Venice and Rome, I wanted my first time in one of those cities to be romantic and perfect and with the person you loved. After all, those cities are filled with history and romance, so I just had to go there as a couple. But the timing to actually go, was never right. Until the BF started working there, in Rome to be exact and there I went, to spend Valentines over there.

I booked an evening flight which I like, because it’s always much more quiet at the airport –the only thing I dislike in the evening is that the food in the Privium lounge in the morning is much better, with pancakes and stuff haha- and I wore my new headphones which were perfect for ignoring all sounds around me, so I was in my own little bubble on my way to Rome, yay!

I stayed at the BF’s place of course and I knew he was going to be working a lot, so I had to entertain myself. I don’t need much to be happy, so that was all fine for me. Except, I’m a little bit socially awkward and so I was a little bit anxious to go to the city and explore the city by myself. I knew for sure I was going to get lost (yes even with Google Maps). Then an idea popped into my head, what would be a great way to connect with my followers AND would solve my anxiety problem? So I posted an IG story asking which one of my followers were in Italy and wanted to show me around the city.

A girl from the Netherlands and a follower of mine responded that she was in Rome for her studies and wanted to help me out! Also, very important, she didn’t seem like she was some sort of serial killer stalker. So we met up, took the subway to the city centre and she showed me literally everything with EVEN TELLING ME LOTS OF HISTORICAL FACTS. Best. Guide. Ever.

We hit every touristic spot and the Trevi Fountain was really the most magical thing I’ve ever seen in my life. Besides that, I just love the whole architecture and the beautiful little streets Rome has. And because it was almost Valentines Day, lots of streets and restaurants had heart decorations up, I saw delivery guys with huge bouquets of roses. The whole ambiance was ‘romantic comedy movie like’.

My Valentinesday started pretty great as well. T had the whole morning off, so went to the centre to go shopping, to have some lunch (at Pata Pinsa) and to just spend some time together. Time is always the best gift you can give someone. Besides, we always spoil each other like crazy so that’s nothing new on V-day. In the evening we went to a beautiful hotel and had a fancy meal on the top floor.
In a nutshell, this whole trip was magical and I look back with beautiful memories.
